1. Quality assurance The Valleys Marketing Consortium can only accept advertisements for accommodation or activities if they are currently accredited within the relevant Visit Wales quality assurance scheme, AA or other recognised schemes. 2. Good quality text and photographs It is important, for all advertisers, that our publications are well presented and therefore advertisements are accepted subject to the copy, digital image, transparency and photograph being of a good quality. If not of the required quality you will be invited to supply a new photograph and/or rewrite your copy. 3. Payment Payment to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, including VAT is expected in response to a VAT invoice supplied by Merthyr Tydfil CBC after the guide is printed. 4. Advertisement proofs A colour proof copy of your advertisement will be sent to you prior to printing. This is your opportunity to check all details and to inform us of any errors. If we do not receive any comments by the date stated your advertisement will be printed as it appears on the proof. 5. Instructions in writing If there are any instructions or amendments relating to the advertisement, you need to inform us clearly in writing. Verbal instructions are not acceptable due to misinterpretation. 6. Cancellation All cancellations must be in writing. No cost will be incurred if cancelled within one week of the advertisement closing date. After this date an administration fee will be charged. 7. Advertisement location We will endeavour to accommodate individual advertisers wishes but no specific location, within the guide can be guaranteed. The Valleys Marketing Consortium reserves the right to select a suitable location for advertisements. 8. Copyright We would ask advertisers to ensure they are free, under copyright, to use any maps, illustrations or photography they wish to include in their advert. 9. Trade Descriptions Act All advertisers must comply with the 1968 Trade Descriptions Act, the Consumer Protections Act 1987, any other relevant legislation and the Code of Advertising Practice. 10. The publication A voucher copy of the publication will be sent to each advertiser on production. If you require further copies let us know. 11. Valleys Marketing Consortium duties and liabilities The Valleys Marketing Consortium will take reasonable care of all material entrusted to it, but in the unlikely event of loss or damage caused by the negligence of the Valleys Marketing Consortium or its contractors, liability will be limited to the normal cost of the material lost or damaged. The Valleys Marketing Consortium must be advised in writing if any material has sentimental or other value greater than its normal cost so that insurance can be arranged at the advertiser's expense. Similarly subject to ‘condition 4’ we will take all reasonable steps to ensure adverts appear correctly. In the event of error or delay in printing attributable to The Valleys Marketing Consortium or its contractors liability is limited to the cost of the advertisement booked. |
